History

The estate used to be made up of thirteen farmsteads, one of them had less land and was called “il Poderino” (the little farmhouse); the farm workers cottage, oddly enough, was much larger and most sought after by sharecroppers.
The historic name of the farmstead was “La Fornace” (The Kiln) because bricks used to be fired there, and there are still signs of the old kiln, but the name it was affectionately given by the old farmworkers stood the test of time and the locals have always called it "Il Poderino".
At the beginning of the year 2000 the 19th Century building was renovated fully respecting its typological characteristics and original materials. The work was highly meticulous but the results are worth every effort.
The main body of the building was designed to offer different types of accommodation to meet the needs and requirements of tourists and holidaymakers: from solo travelers to families, from couples to groups of friends.
In the coach house next to the farm workers cottage, a music studio was built – www.poderinorecordingstudio.com – comprising three rehearsal rooms and a recording studio, fully equipped with the very latest, most modern technology.
The music studio was an idea by Patrizia Mussi, and musicians appreciate the close proximity being able to stay in a particularly peaceful place where they can mix work with relaxation.
Externally there are large spaces available for use by guests as well as uncontaminated countryside ideal for long walks and sports activities.
The pool looks out over the sea and the surrounding countryside and the view is one of unparalleled beauty.
