The old cattle shed was converted by Benedetta Mussi into a restaurant

The old cattle shed was converted by Benedetta Mussi into a restaurant, which she aptly called "La Mucca Gioiosa" (The Joyful Cow) playing on references to the old use of the premises and the name of the Estate.

In renovating the restaurant Benedetta has respected tradition, by keeping the original manger, the drinking trough nozzles and the old, hand-operated water pump and leaving intact the spaces used to hold salt block for cattle.

The décor, with old wooden tables, straw chairs, as well as attention to detail and special accessories, creates a particularly warm and welcoming ambiance. Here typically Italian breakfasts are served, with homemade cakes, cookies, biscuits and jams prepared by us. In summer, meals can be eaten outside, on a natural terrace affording the most amazing views.

The kitchen is run by Benedetta, who above all enjoys using simple, natural products, basing his dishes on the typical, farmhouse recipes of Tuscan country tradition : ‘pappa al pomodoro’, ‘ribollita’, pappardelle with tuscan meat sauce, ‘pasta e fagioli’, sliced beef, Fiorentina steak, chicken alla cacciatora, sausages and beans and much more besides. Any dishes can be prepared on request.

The specialties served in the restaurant are based primarily on the use of our freshly grown vegetables dressed strictly with homegrown olive oil.
